Zombies Ate My Web Host–A True Story

UPDATE:  COLO4 is claiming the problem is resolved.  No love for my KnownHost sites however.  Soon hopefully? 8:47 PM August 10th, 2011

UPDATE: Still no official ETA on KnownHost/COLO4 servers being back up.  Another update in an hour. 4:24PM EST August 10th, 2011

Update:  Check for COLO4 updates here.  They are installing a spare.  No ETA listed. 3:14 EST August 10th. #knownhost.

UPDATE:  Knownhost is down because the COLO4 facility is down.  Try searching for updates on that if you’re a Knownhost customer – 2:29PM EST August 10th.

Generally speaking, I’m very happy with KnownHost and their suite of tools for being a webmaster.  VPS, dedicated, you name it, they have it, and 99.9999999999% of the time it works fantastic.  My 12,000 page blogs load quickly, they are always up, and I never get any complaints on anything. Side Note:  Obviously this blog is hosted elsewhere.  Two hours later, still down.

Until today.  Apparently, Knownhost has been eaten by zombies.

Why I think my KnownHost was Eaten By Zombies

It’s simple really.  My websites haven’t received a single visitor since 11:49 AM eastern time this morning.  The KnownHost Website is down.  And they haven’t tweeted an update since June 4th (65 days ago).  People all over Twitter are complaining about #knownhost not being available for comment, or to provide support updates.

So clearly, they’ve been eaten by zombies.

zombiesatemywebhostNo web host with a sparkling reputation can simply disappear, can they?  I mean, obviously their brains have been consumed by a horde of undead somewhere in Texas (insert your own George Bush joke here).

I mean, an internet company, selling internet stuff, knows about Twitter and Facebook, don’t they?

Zombies, I tell you.
