Yesterday we picked up a new toy. I’ve always been fond of photography, as has my wife, but we had never invested in more than just a simple Point and Shoot camera. So, I decided it was time to upgrade, as I’m interested in taking high quality product photography for business, as well as photographing wildlife and insects along the trout streams I fish every year. The latter of which will require me to get a true macro lens down the road.
Anyways, we of course started snapping photos as soon as we got it out of the box. With a DSLR, if you haven’t had one before, there are WAY more settings than on your standard point and shoot. So I have a lot to learn. I think for my wife, however, the Pre-set formats (Landscape, Macro, Action, Portrait, etc.) will be enough to satisfy her “shutterbug”.
Here’s some of the initial shots. I’m in love already.
