Deadfall at Oatka Creek

I spend a lot of time on Oatka Creek near Scottsville, NY. Along one of the paths in the Oatka Creek Park section of the stream, this dead fall always catches my eye.

There must be a lot of history surrounding a tree of that size, growing next to trout that swam these streams since the days of the dinosaurs.

Of course, the brown trout, the current resident, was introduced from Europe, but I would assume that the brook trout took up residence in the Oatka before that.
